Technical Designer / Structural Engineer

At MoederscheimMoonen, we design environments where people live, move, and meet. We always look at the bigger picture and approach issues with an open mind and from multiple perspectives to create the best solutions.

The job

Because we believe in an integrated approach, in which architecture and engineering go hand in hand from the start, we are looking for a Technical Designer / Structural Engineer with an eye for detail. Someone who is technically strong but also has a feel for design. A technical designer who translates the design through to execution and derives energy from that.

This is how you help build our projects:

  • You are the link that further develops architectural concepts into detailed structural models and technical drawings.
  • You play a crucial role in the DO and UO phases, where you further refine the technical foundation and ensure that everything is technically well-developed.
  • You ensure feasibility without losing sight of the architectural concept.
  • You work independently on 1 to 2 projects, in close collaboration with designers, architects, and project managers. You are part of our team of experts; our collective knowledge and experience are at your disposal when needed.
  • You monitor and improve the technical quality of our projects.

You contribute to thinking about the right technical choices – and know how to make them visually clear in the model.

What makes this position unique

At our firm, architecture and engineering go hand in hand from the very beginning. They are equal, complementary, and reinforce each other. With us, you are part of the project team from the start. You truly make a substantive difference and work together to build architecture that is technically and aesthetically sound. We hold the quality of our processes, products, and projects in high regard. It is the result of our passion and love for the profession, and we are proud of it!

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering and a passion for architecture. Or you are trained as an architect (university level), but your heart lies with technology and detailing.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in the technical design and development of projects during the DO and TO phases.
  • Experience with Archicad is a plus, affinity with Archicad/Revit is a must.
  • You are a true team player. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and know that you achieve a better result together.
  • You have knowledge of the Building Decree and other relevant laws and regulations, and you can correctly interpret and apply them.
  • You work accurately, have an eye for detail, and think along from the perspective of the overall design.
  • You have a command of and understand spoken and written Dutch and can interpret it correctly. Should you wish to further improve your speaking and understanding of Dutch, you can also use your annual study budget for this.

 What we offer you

  • A market-rate salary commensurate with your work experience, within the SFA Collective Labour Agreement.
  • The opportunity to work 32, 36, or 40 hours per week.
  • Work from our renovated monumental building in Rotterdam-West, with the option to work from home as well.
  • Training and development opportunities in the form of a personal development plan, including an annual development budget.
  • Personal growth is central to us; you will have ample opportunities to further develop your talents and advance within the organization.
  • Catch up together every week on the latest developments and a monthly lunch & learn full of inspiration and interesting projects.
  • Enjoying sports together and fun team dinners and outings.
