Clubhouse CVV Zwervers

After a careful selection process, MoederscheimMoonen was chosen as the architect for the outdoor sports facility for CVV Zwervers football club in Capelle aan den IJssel. The project was part of the large-scale redevelopment of Sportpark Couwenhoek, which underwent a major transformation to better meet the contemporary needs of sports clubs and users.

Sports Park Couwenhoek

The new facility was built at Couwenhoek Sports Park and is a key component of the park's renovation. The building has been carefully integrated into the existing sporting context and serves as a recognizable and unifying element within the park. Its clear organization and open appearance contribute to the social cohesion of the club and the sports complex as a whole.

Architectural concept

The building has a clear and functional layout with a robust, solid plinth housing the various changing rooms and support facilities. Above this plinth, you'll find a bright and transparent upper floor, which houses the catering area and the boardroom. This structure creates a clear separation between sports functions and living areas, while the whole is perceived as a single, cohesive volume.

Catering, grandstand and roof overhang

The design directly connects the catering area and the grandstand. By integrating these functions into a single design, a vibrant meeting place with a view of the sports fields is created. A generously sized, folded roof overhang connects the interior and exterior, providing shelter for spectators while simultaneously giving the building a distinctive and inviting appearance.

Realization and delivery

The outdoor sports facility was designed as a sustainable and future-proof clubhouse that aligns with CVV Zwervers' ambitions and the developments within the sports park. The building was completed in 2013 and has since served as the club's new heart, where sports, socializing, and governance naturally converge.
