At PB tec, technology and innovation are in the company's DNA. The organization develops advanced horticultural solutions and is a true frontrunner in the international horticulture sector. Thanks to the company's success, there was a need for a new building with space for development, at a prominent location along the A20 in Maasdijk. We designed the new headquarters.

During the design process, we delved deeply into the working methods and processes of PB tec. With this knowledge, we created an optimal working environment in both the office and the workshop. To ensure that all departments can operate smoothly together, we examined the various disciplines and how they collaborate. In this way, the heart of the organization, the assembly area, was given a central place in the building between the production spaces and the offices.
The office floors are distributed over three levels along the facade of the production hall behind. This way, the workspaces receive optimal daylight. This is enhanced by the glass walls that run from floor to ceiling. A lot of glass has also been used between the offices and the production area, creating plenty of interaction between the different departments.
Thinking of PB tec’s roots, we used the iconic aerial view of the Westland landscape as inspiration for the façade. The aerial view of the ‘glass city’ served as the starting point for the front façade, which consists of various frames. These frames also symbolize the different functions within the company and emphasize certain focal points in the building, such as the entrance, the executive office, and the fitness area.
With the facade design, we break away from the stereotypical 'highway architecture'. Because one thing is certain: the new PB tec office is a real eye-catcher.
